ARTICLE: ADVANTAGE OF CCTV CAMERA AT WORKPLACE

Whether you’ve been victimized in the past or just like keeping an eye on things, you may consider using Closed Circuit Television cameras at some point. CCTV helps prevent personal and property crimes by monitoring, recording and transmitting images. The images are monitored remotely by you or security personnel, allowing your premises to be watched 24 hours a day. CCTV cameras can act as a deterrent to crime and increase the chance of arresting those who carry out crimes. They can be placed anywhere on the exterior or interior of a building. If you don't want the cameras to be obvious, you can get small cameras that are easy to hide in plants or behind speakers.

1) CCTV AT WORKPLACE

When you are in charge of a workplace, observing your employees and facilities can have positive effects on your business.
Without it, things can spiral out of control before you are aware of them.
As you set up an observation plan, aim for transparency so your staff understands the reasons behind the system.

2) ACCESS TO CCTV FOOTAGE

Data protection laws do not include an exhaustive list of who can view CCTV footage.

Restricting access to security footage to as few people as possible also decreases the chances of someone leaking information about the placement of security cameras, either accidentally or on purpose.
The police can also request to be given CCTV footage.
If their request meets the legal requirements, you are indeed obligated to disclose the footages.

3) INSTALL THE CCTV CAMERA

There is a core set of items that you need to check on all cameras, such as ensuring that the camera lens is clean, but you’ll need to compile one specific to your installation.

Check all connectors, cable fixings and any immediately-accessible cable section.

Any cracks or missing pieces should be noted. Check all camera seals and glands.

Physical integrity, installation, and environment: is your camera undamaged, and is the ambient environment still adequate.

Electrical power and data transmission: is the camera adequately powered, and can it transmit data safely and efficiently.

Mechanical operation: if your camera has any moving parts, do they still move the way they should.

4) CRIMINAL CAUGHT ON CCTV

Criminal acts don’t occur on a fixed schedule.
That’s why surveillance has to be permanent in order to be useful.
A criminal act that isn’t caught on camera can’t be investigated based on camera footage.
Ensuring that your cameras work at all times is critical to ensuring their effectiveness.
Out-of-focus images make it impossible to identify people or objects, and are generally useless during investigations.
You want a system that works well, not one that just happens to power on.
