ARTICLE: TIPS TO TAKE CARE OF CAR

A car (or automobile) is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transportation. Most definitions of cars say that they run primarily on roads, seat one to eight people, have four wheels, and mainly transport people rather than goods. Cars have controls for driving, parking, passenger comfort, and a variety of lights. Over the decades, additional features and controls have been added to vehicles, making them progressively more complex, but also more reliable and easier to operate. People's ability to move flexibly from place to place has far-reaching implications for the nature of societies.

1) ENGINE OIL

Check the level on a regular basis and keep an eye for a leak. Use a dipstick for the checking and park the vehicle on an even surface at that time to get the correct reading. If the level is low, fill the tank up but don’t overfill. Also, repair immediately should you find any leak.

2) TIRE’S AIR PRESSURE

Having the correct tire pressure is extremely important for getting good gas mileage and the most life out of your tires. Your car has a recommended tire pressure that will give the best gas mileage, handling and tire life for that car and it’s written right on the vehicle’s door. That’s the one you should follow when filling them up with air to the recommended pressure, measured in pounds per square inch, or psi.

3) EXAMINES THE BRAKES

If you are pro enough to do this car care job, check it at least two or three times a year, and even more if you drive frequently and longer distances. You will need to remove the wheels and check the condition of the rotors, pads, drums, and other parts. Go to a servicing shop if you are not good with the motor.

4) FILL TANK PROPERLY

You will have to fill up more frequently, but you’ll benefit from better acceleration and fuel economy. Don’t let your petrol tank level get too low, though, because you risk pulling the debris and gunk from the bottom of the tank through your fuel filter and then you’ll have to pay to have that replaced. Always fill your tank as soon as the low fuel warning light comes on.
